Question Can't get Plane shadows to show.

G3 runs flawlessly at the highest detail level with no lag...I just can't get the plane's shadows to show no matter what variety of detail options I pick. Other than that the whole program runs perfect!

HELP? Thank you in advance...

I’m afraid it’s your graphics card ...

Thumbs up

THANKS! I was looking for a compatibility page like that. It is odd that the graphics card would pick to just ignore shadows, but you confirmed what I was afraid of.

What seems to be the best card to get?

Its depends on your budget ...

I've had it running fine with everything set to high on an ATI 9800pro ($150) and it runs very well on my current card X800XT PE ($450)

Cool Thanks! I see the Radeon Pro 9800 is almost 3 years old but I've read it's a tough act to follow. I'm going to get one from www.tigerdirect.com

I want my shadows!

I've been reading a lot and find out so far the 9800 has fan problems..... and it seems the best place to buy a card is www.newegg.com I found it at an Amazon tech review.

I might just live with no shadows...I could buy a nice electric plane for $150 I would spend to watch plane shadows...hmmm. I might just stay with my standard card for now?

it had 128 MB .... I can't remember the exact FPS but it wasn’t too bad … the rest of my system … 3GHZ P4 and 1 GB of RAM. (1280x1024)

I have the same problem. The guys at KE swear my video card is compatible with G3 and my video card is listed in the compatible list, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO SHADOWS!

That's like buying a new Chevy and it will only go 30mph.
