Cool Raptor 90 v2

I liked Nemo's Heli so much I made it into a Raptor 90 v2. Engine is a OS 91 and I made a custom colorscheme to go along with it. More reactive and better than the Raptor 30 v2. Enjoy, Cameron

Ya i just made it bigger in its size, popped in the os 91 lightened the paddles a little and put larger SAB blades on it. It looks more realistic with the 90 scheme on lol

Hi WingsWest328,

Nice color schemes !

a couple of questions for you ...

1. did the blades appear correct when you first loaded the model ? it should have wood blades.
2. have you tweaked the reflectivity of the materials ? the muffler should be shiny yet its dull in your screenshot (might be a graphics setting)

Why does Nemo's V2 produce such a sluggish Raptor for me?

I can't find what is causing this.

The Pitch/Roll controls seem to be have very little authority.

The updated .90 version here rocks.

I switched the blades so yes they are wood but i have tried some carbon fibers and the exhaust is just me. I am running on my laptop so my gfx are not the best. My card doesnt support shadows and a few other things. If you need some blades i can post them

Thats the reason i made it a 90. To me the 30 didnt seem like it had enough umph. For the 30 you might try lightening the flybars if you want to use it.

Yeah I tried the usual stuff.

Even the weak, Impala moves better for me.

I lightened the paddles, screwed around with the mixing ratio, changed the main blades, etc.

I finally exported the Impala physics model to a new name, then edited the file directly to work with the posted V2, then put in the .37 engine, adjusted the paddle weight, etc. and now it seems more like a Raptor (I've never really flown one though, merely watched them put through their paces).

Dunno why the original V2 physics seems so "off" though.

The 3D model of course is wonderful!

It's a downloadable model.

You do not need an add-ons disk for Nemo's raptor.

Just download it from the provided link on his original message.

I have a similar problem. When I try to import the KEX file it tells me that the texture file is missing and then the import fails. I've moved the color scheme and the tga file into the colorschemes directory but it's looking for a different file.

Huh?

Click on the Raptor V2 link in Nemo's original thread.

It should save as a .G3x file but XP -MAY- rename it to something like

Raptor V2.g3x.zip

If it does REMOVE the .ZIP suffix (make sure that you have XP set to SHOW SUFFIXES!!!! IMPORTANT!!!)

Now use the IMPORT function on Nemo's original post.

THEN do the same on the above files.

No problem whatsoever with .430, provided you are dealing with the file types correctly.
