Talking Velocity XL - Completed

OK it's done. It's now 11:30 at night and I just finished tweaking the physics model; adjusting balast, engine thrust, control surface deflections, etc. She now flies really sweet.

While not truely designed for inverted flight, she still handles it pretty well (even an outside loop). The only real limitations that I've found is that she doesn't have the rudder authority to hold a level knife edge (I could cheat and make the rudders bigger, but I made them to scale size) and you can pretty much forget doing any stunts requiring a stall. I have yet to be able to force a stall (even inverted). Even her snap-rolls are so slow and graceful that they look more like a barrel-roll - there just ain't no snap...

Enjoy,
Doug

Great plane, but it should really be posted in the swap pages.

I can't move this thread from here.

Could you repost there?

Thanks.

This is a terrific 1st plane Doug and it looks like you did it all yourself, thats quite an achievement I expect they will only get better and better. No "ground handling" issues like so many other releases

Strange, I've had no problems.

Let the plane's speed run up a bit before you pull back.

It still has a bit of the "stickyness" to the runway, but it is no where near as bad as it was before.

Thanks for the kind words gents. Sorry to take so long to reply, my wife and I took a trip out of town for a few days and since it was our annaversary I didn't bother taking a computer.

This was my first plane and it was a solo action, started with a 3-view and some technical data from the manufacture. I do want to thank those that provided technical tips and assistance to point me in the right direction.

I'll also post the plane on the swap page, as requested.

Doug
