Ladies & Gents...
This is a modification of Master Nizz's original NASA 747b "beta" version posted a while back. Airfoils, control surfaces, engines, programming, color scheme, etc. were completely reworked for better flight/functionality characteristics and a more scale appearance. I've always loved the way Qantas planes looked...so hopefully you don't mind flying this version around. This mod is tweaked for the new flight dynamics included in RealFlight G3.5. It now lands like a *****cat and knife-edges like a champ. ;c) Enjoy! Channel 1: Ailerons Channel 2: Elevator Channel 3: Throttle Channel 4: Rudder Channel 5: Landing Gear Channel 6: Flaps (Knob (7-O-Clock UP, 12-O-Clock HALF, 5-O-Clock FULL) Channel 7: Dual Rates Channel 8: Brakes (Use Down Elevator) Channel 9: Spoilers (0 DEG - BACK, 15 DEG - MIDDLE, 75 DEG - FORWARD) TAKEOFFS: Use 100% Throttle...hold 100% back stick...plane will rotate when enough speed is generated. To shorten takeoffs, use either half or full flaps using the knob. CRUISE: Use around 55% Throttle for cruise at around 175MPH...to keep a nice and level flight without pitch/trim correction (Trims Zero'd Out). With 4 turbines gunning at 100%, you'll easily find yourself speeding across the sky at around 215MPH. In a nose drive, you'll easily exceed 350MPH. For a more scale flight, use low rates and keep the speed down! ;c) LANDING: Cut throttle completely to bleed off speed on the down leg, or reduce throttle in combination with spoilers. Add full flaps and lower landing gear. Keep a nose high AOA and keep speed around 53MPH. Count on using full up elevator to keep the nose high as the plane slows. If nose starts to drop, or your plane starts to sink too fast, increase a few notches of throttle to avoid the stall, but don't over do it. Ride the plane to the runway on a nice glide slope. Once on the ground, use full down elevator to apply full brakes. |

Outstanding aircraft! One small request; could Qantas be reversed to read correctly on the fuselage?

Glad you guys like it...I love doing touch and go's with it too!
Regarding the right-side plane image where Qantas and other text is backwards, that happened because the original author of this plane only used the left side to map the image for both...even though the tail has two distinct sides. Take a look at the Targa image file and you'll see what I mean. I almost left the Qantas and other text off, but I thought it would be better to have it accurate on one side than it missing completely. People won't usually be able to read the other side's text from a distance anyway...while flying...so it looks correct from afar and doesn't really register. Just make sure you take off from right to left (Sod Field) and you won't notice it! ![]() I'd love to redesign the wing and whole plane as well...not truly scale. Like I said before, this is a revamp of somebody elses work. They did a good job, but it's not scale...more of a semi-scale...getting the general profile correct. Perhaps one day I'll have the time and resources to do the whole Boeing fleet and other favorite jets in high detail.

Thrust reversal would be awesome on this plane...Does anyone know if that is possible?

G3 & G3.5 Color Schemes Compatible?
I'm still using G3 (not 3.5) and have the NASA Boeing 747. Would it be possible to post up the Qantas colorsheme you have to import into G3?

Actually, I'm sure you could import the whole plane into G3 as well. I'm curious how it flies in the older version. CG and airfoils changed, but I don't think it should have that much effect...could be wrong. Upgrading to G3.5 to fly this bird alone is worth it though... Smoooooth!
