C:\ I have none. H:\ Problems

No need for info on this one

Here is what happens.

I have a laptop. Its HDD is one (Actualy two maped as one) and its drive assignment is h:\

i can use Realflight G3 and G3.5 and the new beta
but on G3.5 I noticed that if i click on Technical support in the launcher. I get error message
Error opening serial output file
then the Tech sup window comes up. with no Info..

same when i hit assemble system information.
My guess, I think.
both assume there is a C:\ without checking.

Managed to get the thing to work (Lucky) when i plug my mem stick into my USB port. It is showing up as Removable storage C:\

but when i unplug. and close tech support program. i get a prompt to type in the # on G3 CD case and interlink controler
and then add on pack1
and then add on pack2
andwhen it dose work. i can not get any sign of Add ons 3,4and5

did this 3 times.

later i discovered that if i have the usb mem stick in. i dont get prompted.

NB all installs and updates were without the mem stick in. I only used the mem stick to trick the Technical support and assemble info into being able to make a dump.

a work around has been posted for this.

Generally, it's not a good idea to have windows on another partition than C. There are lots of tools which assume that windows is on C or there is a "temp" or "tmp" directory on C.
So you might have to accept the idea of reinstalling on C. Staying on H will only cause you trouble...

No can do.
Besides. it is not a partition.

This is the first program on my laptop to make the asumption without a check...

It should at least have a menue,so i could select the location for it.
To me the job of giving this one peice of info (pointing to h:\) is far less tedious than 7 serial # 3 of which require reinstalation of Addons 3-4-5.

Does the latest Launcher (downloaded as part of 3.50.044) fix this problem for you?

Just re entered the Serial # without said USB mem stick as my C:\ and it worked.
I launched the technical support option from the launcher and it gave an info dump. So YeeHaa. It is working.
Launched G3.5.044 no planes from Add on 34or5. though i have not re enstalled them. will be back after i re enstall. though i feel it will work.

Thanks so much. I have no need now to add my USB for a C:\

I'm glad to hear it! Did you also click the Assemble Information button and make sure that worked properly, too? You can do that any time; it doesn't matter if you have your Add-Ons reinstalled or not.

Just installed G3 From disk (Original without heli update, No modem yet. I will be thinking about BB) on my Desktop.

Desktop now has;
An Asus P5PE-VM MOBO.
512MB Ram (rather slow ram at that)
An Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.06ghz (Comes up as 2CPUs like my laptop)
An "ATI Radeon Series 9550 256MB TV/DVI " (AGP8X/4XBus) by www.palit.com.tw

Was good for 18+pfs. turned clouds off and Particles to High and got 23+ fps.

If you would like more info on the Desktop Specs. i will be happy to do so.

For now You could say the ATI 9550 is tested and Works

Ryan. I did the test Re; Acidently launch G3.5.044 on my laptop with mem stick in.

It ran fine.

But. When i closed G3.5.044 and removed Memstick, and then Re launched G3.5.044 it asked for #'s for G3 and E1 and E2. i hit cancel to each and was not able to access Tech support. says i must enter Serial # to do so.

I replaced mem stick. Relaunched G3.5.044's launcher and all was normal.
I can still see Add on 3's 4's and 5's Aircraft when i go to select aircraft.

So now i am still stuck with memstick.

What should I do. jut enter the serial #'s again without memstick in?

OK just did that. Added serial #'s without memstick in. it asked for G3 E1 and E2. launched.

Now i can not see my Add On's 3 4 or 5.
Hmm.

I will pay more attention to launch when i do. For now i must remember to Leave memstick out when launching.(After i next reinstall AddOn's 3 4 and 5)

Or is there another Option ?
