Demo and windows Vista

I just bought a new Alienware computer with Vista and couldn't wait to download the demo and see if it would run with Vista. The G3 demo installed with no problems but the simulator is very sluggish the plane and heli seem to run smooth but the background graphics seem to be having a problem keeping up with the plane and heli. I have this on my old computer and it runs great. I was going to buy G3 but I guess I will wait and see what is going on. There will have to be a patch for this problem soon I hope. I know there is no problem with this new computer so it has to be a problem with G3 and Vista. Someone let me know something. My son and I just bought two electric helis and we don't want to tear them up. I also see no tab or menu to adjust the graphics. By the way G3 looks great on Vista.

Thank you

Well gee, echo, at least you know there's no problem with your pc. Sounds like you have the trouble nailed. must be a problem with g3 and vista. Exactly what kind of patch are you looking for? The demo comes from the real verson. You can expect similar performance with the full program. The demo runs fine on my cheap laptop. I know you can't post your specs like this forum requests, since you don't have the full program, but maybe if you could post SOMETHING SPECIFIC about your system, those of us here with close to your level of knowledge may be able to steer you in the right direction.

Well gee, I don't really know what your trying to say here and I'm so glad that the program runs on your CHEAP LAPTOP. I was just posting that there may be a problem with Vista. As It has DX10 and says that a lot of programs will have trouble running on it. I think your reply came across to me as smart remark and as far as you saying I don't have a program to show my specs you sir do not know what I have. Like I said I was only posting a problem and I know a demo is only part of the program but it does show and tell about the program. As for my computer. It has Windows Vista home premium 32 bit, Intel duo core 2 processor .Its rated a 4.5 2M cache 1066mhz. It has a Nivida NForce 6801 SLI MB motherboard and a Nivida 7950GT 512MB PCIE graphics processor. Segate 250 GB Sata 3G 7200rpm 8MB CASHE NCQ System drive. A NEC 18X Dual Layer DVD+R/W Ram recorder primary CD ROMDVD ROM. Nividia C55-MB Sound Card. 700 Watt ATX PSU Rev2 Power Supply and 2 GB of Memory. If ya reply to this. Don't worry. I want post no reply because I was looking for help and not a smart remark

I wouldn't hold my breath for any sort of Vista "patch" as G3 runs quite well under Vista.

You may have a completely different issue at play.

BTW: The Alienware "themes" are known to cause problems with G3, so any theme enhancers must be turned off on G3.

I'm glad to see that you finally posted some more about your computer. You've got to admit that you didn't give anyone very much in the line of specs to go on. You mentioned a brand of computer and that was it. I know that new computers typically come laden with software, processes and TSRs that bog down the systems. The first thing I do when I get a new computer is go into the msconfig and disable everything that doesn't need to always be running. I had a helluva time disabling a routine called 'vongo' that came preloaded on my CHEAP LAPTOP. Even though I uninstalled it and disabled it from starting up through msconfig, it still kept trying to install itself when my kids logged in to their account. It would not end, even when I hit cancel. I had to power off, and log into my account. I also had to edit the registry to get rid of it. That's only 1 example of 1 program that came preloaded on my new pc. Like Opjose said, theme managers wreak(?) havoc on RF as well, not to mention AOL software. Don't know what you have running on your new PC, but it's worth checking out.

I have a new gateway with vista and a 7600 nivida graphics card and mine runs smooth. I had a problem with the demo as well though. It ran great for about 5 or 10 minutes then it got real choppy but, I have not had the same problem with the real deal .
