I need some help
Hey Guys, I'm having a hard time getting models to import properly. I'v been searching the forums for a while now and can't seem to fins an answer.
Basically, any of the planes I imported into 3.5 that are g3x files, are no problem. It's the kex files which seem to give me grief. When I unzip the folder, I go to import...kex...then i click the kex file, and it always says import sucessful. But when I load the aircraft. It's missing the compnent frame CS_SG. What am I doung wrong? Every planes defaults to a Great Planes rimfire 42...outrunner. Thanks in advance. Greg |

if it is an EA file you are useing. then you only need to use the import tool in the sim itself (See Pic) this imports all files. just import g3x and it will also do the kex.
In all the airoplanes/heli etc i have imported. i have never imported just a kex file (Hek. i dont even know why you would) Else. check OPjose's Link Any one know why the import kex file is an option (what is it used for?)

Import Kex is used for an aircraft you've created either from 3ds2kex or Kemax. There should be no need to import a kex if you're using aircraft downloaded from the swap pages. Anything imported from Swap pages should use the import g3x that Bryce already indicated.

Opjose,
Chances are he is unzipping rather than importing the G3x file. Brentg |

Yah, thats exactly what I was doing. I didn't realize you had to just rename the file with a .g3x. Everything works fine now. Cheers all.

you dont even have to rename it to g3x. Just Choose
Simulation/Import/G3X and select your downloaded ZIP file. RF knows what to do with it... |

Surjer;
I didn't know that. (Learnt something new today alredy : ) I did know that a recording with voice over can have any mp3 placed in place of the voice over (Same name) and G3 knows what to do with it. IE . I make a recording. rename it in G3's file manager (Just below import) to say "My Fly" Now I will have a .recording and .wav called "My Fly" Now all I have to do is either convert the .wav to .mp3 (Keep the name the same) and the replay knows what to do. or I could also rename the now "My Fly.mp3 to "My Fly.wav" and the replay still can play it. (This way you can Export it into an RC.G3X and post it) Check out my "Blade CP Pro Etail" recording with voice over. (on the swap pages)
