True. AWESOME it is. But it was looking perfect from the start. and so. Why not go the distance , True it was just a few Minor things. but they are relativly easy things to correct.

Grale. I bet you are feeling realy proud of what you have done. (You should). next week you will Probably feel even prouder. having a plane on the swaps that is as Good as you get for G3.

I live around the Corner from PA here in Sydney. and If You like I could show them and get feed back from them (Not sure if they will be there). but I could call them today, and Tell them I am Interested in geting My Katana Mini Fitted out. (Had it sitting around for a year or more now ) ..

If you would like, I will give it a try, (Not sure they will say yes. and I understand He is not a G3 guy. Maybe this could change him)

OK. Went in today, and after sorting out my Mini Katana (Wow. I got a new motor and motor mount that is far different from the original design concept, + some servo horns servo wire and a print out of the instruction manual , lost the last one) OK. so after that I was telling them about the Model you did for g3 here. and they said they had just received an E-Mail not long before I got there. Usual concerns with Copy ability. but this may well be the same result that happened for the Katana Mini. they did not tell me Yay or Nay. as it is their choice.

I did suggest that I could work with them with my laptop and G3, but when they put it to me that there are users that have the Electric shock and G3 and that it could take hours. I did tend to understand.
Primarily.. it may even take longer with the translation of what they say it fly's like to my understanding and then the retesting.

So, Personally, I would suggest that all who have the Shock put there hands up and briefly describe there confidence with the G3 Aircraft Editor, Give them an Ea to work with and then ?? (Remember DHK's Thread , many useful hints there)

It may help if thre was an edited version that may well be concidered ready, and then. (Maybe) we could get them to spare 10-20 min of test and suggest time (that is IF, they say yes you can Post it ) personally, I have my fingers crossed and am looking forward to having a fly of it in G3
Please let us know when PA get back to you.

I did email them yesterday, i was asking for seperate weight details of components i.e wings, fuselage and rudder, all i need now are the exact weights of these components, and i beleive it will be finished

no reply from them yet!

Am i right in what you are saying that i have to ask their permission to post my model for G3??

See what you can get out of this post here.
found at the top of every page in the Gray bar just under the swap pages link etc
Terms of use

Most manufacturers say yes. if they reply. the thing is you are covering you 6.
You are in effect providing free advertising for the MF. so in most cases they say yes.
(I have only heard of 2 or 3 examples where the modeler held back a posting of the plane due to lack of response from a MF<can't find examples at the moment>)

I'm a little gray in this area, so Personally I would Appreciate it if other Modelers and G3 users or Lurkers would step in and give a View/Opinion/facts etc.

But it is relatively easy to get permission. so there is not a real worry

From the PA website. you can gather enough information to get pretty close.

4 servos 6.5 g ea with connector
1 motor 46g (Not including bullet connectors)
1 1000mah LiPo3s bat 80g
1 Esc 18.5 g no Bullet?
Use average weight for Rx and other peripherals like Prop/ adaptor/ CF control rods horns / CF landing gear. then add all those weights up and subtract from the suggested All up weight of Airplane of 396g

Now just average out the remainder with the larger portion going to fuse and the rest as a matter of guestimate.

This should help you ? that is if PA haven't provided the information yet.

Check back through the thread for users who have one, and ask them, what are the weights. at least the wings.
(Remember to check if the wings have the weight of the servos in their reply)< generally, in G3, it is better to add mass components in the locations of the servo rather than add the servo weight to the wing weight>

Here is an Example.

I have renamed it to Compo (Due to the weight distribution required due to the Bulge at the Back elevator portion. Due to that Bulge, I had to make the elevator and Rudder as light as G3 would allow.) this is by no means a finished AV, As I would like to work with your improved EA. IE Aleron directions. and Fuse. (At the moment. My av is still in need of Proper tuneing. But has the Weight distribution correct, Not including Bulge Problem

Even when i think I have finished with that Improved EA. I would like to put it to a Check with those still interested.

Grale; if you are OK with me having a go at this. the you can send an E-Mail to me.
Or, If you are able to gather info on weights etc from my AV then please Do so. either way

Thanks for a Great Looking EA.

Ok, i think i am ready to re-post on the swap pages

I have all the correct weights and physics entered in now.

If i could please ask that you don't post any variants yet please, as i want to make sure everything is ok first.

it means that i cannot delete my model if anyone posts a colour scheme or variant! a pain i know

I will post it very shortly, please report any errors or mistakes here first, so that i can correct them, but hopefully there won't be.... fingers X'd

Thanks

Grale

Why don't you post the EA here first, so you don't have the variant problems. Then, other people could post variants here, too, and when all looks good, post it to the swaps.

OK, Done all I can do for this one. IE If I go any further I end up making it less flyable. IE negative effects. (So before I go there, I should just hand in my Home work and be done with ) actually I did go to far and had to back track..

Would like to Either see others members inputs. (Phrank ) or at least have them give them Grales EA or the AV I did for him, "The Once over"

Grale. This is Purely for a reference of Ideas. I do not expect you to implement all (Or any) of them...

Nice work and I have to tell you. I have never seen so many "~CS_" components. WOW. (I had to do a ruder visual for the rudder. IE the Pod for the rudder moves left, but the Visually ~CS_ component moves Right... no bigin... Performs much better than the first EA . and is a very EXCELLENT First Model. (Even excellent for a 10th or more

Wow Bryce,
That's quite some work you put into your edit, very cool.

Here's my homework, not having flown this beautiful model previously, but this is how I changed it.
* Changed Wing airfoil for closer match to visual model (AH 81-K-144 W-F KLAPPE)
my other choice was (Trainer 60) but didn't like how it handled.
* Changed Stall severity on all surfaces to value 80.
* Default "Small Outrunner" sound gives me a headache, I prefer geared motor sound.
* Gave it an orange parkflyer prop.
* Changed the rest of the fuse, and tail feathers to Balsa Flat airfoil.

Not much else was changed. I love all the extra work Bryce put into his, some of that stuff never even crossed my mind!

Cheers,
Frank...
