Hard to say.
could be naming convention, hierarchy, or something else.
did you do the dummy and point helpers?

Do you want to post your schematic view screen?

Very cool, you did much better than I for a first heli.

You'll allso need the ground contact point helpers.
It's not documented in the tutorials, but brief discussion here:
http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17961

Few other observations:
I cannot see the component name you will use as "Fuselage" I suggest using the mainframe body as the fuselage. This is what realflight will use as the "rootframe" in the physics editor.
I assume the collision mesh is hidden? If not, you'll need to create some coarse polys to encase each of the breakapart components and link them to their corresponding components.

You appear to be missing the PaddleHub diskmount (~CS_PH_2BLADE_DISKMOUNT) Don't worry about the blur disk for it, the main hub diskmount encases it anyway.

Try that and see if the the plugin stil pukes.

Crash

I have done everything as you suggested phrank but it still crashes! Do you have 3d Max 2008? I could send you the file if you would have time to look at it?
thanks

Oh man, sorry brother,
I skipped 2008 and went to 2009, unfortunately the plug-in wasn't yet ready back then.
I went back to Max9 since most of the guys I collaborate with use that anyway.
I don't believe I can open a 2008 file with Max9.

Hmmm,
I learned a lot from nemo_uk who once worked for KE, maybe he can spot something.

Crash

I am sure you can open a 2009 file but I probably would not be able to open it back in 2008 after you save it. I have had 2009 on my desk for almost a year now but did not think the upgrade was that significant so I never installed it...maybe I should. Let me know if you would like to try to open it in 2009.
thanks

OK I can look at it then.
I forgot to mention one of the other reasons I was on Max9,
The .kex output may not work for G3 or G3.5 users.

Looks like G4 and G4.5 users may be the only winners here.

Palmi,

You could use the dos version kex exporter, you just have to have a little command line use. I use this for all 3.5 or 4.5 files . There is just a small bit of sup file editing but gives all the options just as the max converter, just a thought.

My guess is that it is probably one object that is causing the crash... That often happens to be... You need to find the object that is causing the crash...

First delete half the craft and try it and if it works then you know you bad piece is in the half you deleted.. and just keep going... If you find the piece then just try collapse the object by converting to a poly.

Or it could be something else..
