.48 multiplayer help
After updating to the .48 release I could no longer use the multiplayer function. I kept getting port mapping errors and messages to check my router. My router is set correctly. I had to back track to .3something to get multiplayer back. I'm on Verizon Fios using their router. All of the named ports are forwarded to my machine (static IP assigned and no firewall).
Anyone else have the same circumstances? |

Didn't mean any thing by that just that it seemed as if you were asking if he had a Norton or zone alarm router or modem
I know you know better just thought maybe you had a "brain fart".....

Rebooted several times. PC, router, enable and disable NIC, everything. I'm an IT guy by trade so this isn't foreign to me. I just can't figure out where the problem lies here.

I'm not familiar with that router. What is the purpose of the 2nd RF entry? It appears that you have both port ranges forwarded in the 1st entry. And can you post a screenie of the IPconfig command? Open up a DOS prompt, and type 'ipconfig/all'. It wouldn't surprise me if your Symantec is preventing the connection. Did you configure Endpoint Protection to allow RF connections?

I have the same router and FIOS. Change your source ports to "Any" instead of the port range you have set. It doesn't sound correct, I know, but if you read about the "source" ports it makes a little more sense. Only the "destination" ports should be set to the specified ranges. I almost forgot, delete that last entry. I had the same thing when I was first trying to set up my router. I don't know where it comes from but it will prohibit the proper operation of MP.

You could check the release notes in the News and Announcements section, or your Launcher to find out what was changed.

Nothing changed except that you followed dcmillers set-up advice....... Quote:
just curious? as this is the first time I've done beta testing ....is it normal for the "public"release to step backward in vers. #??? just seems weird to me
