Get G5: Tower Hobby Deals

Hey guys, I am looking to purchase G5 here pretty soon, was hoping you guys had some sweet deals from Tower Hobbies. Right now they have $20 off of $150 or more. I just became a member of the SSClub so I could get free shipping. Should I hold out for a better deal or is 20 off pretty good?

Who knows? Constant adjustments for sales figures and a multitude of other factors... My guess is that's about as good as it gets. I hope so 'cause that's the deal that I went with.

Well, if you are Super Saver Member, I just picked up G5 with a free hat for $165 shipped. Probably won't get better than that.

Don't you have G3 or G4? The G5 upgrade is only $80.

There's a HAT?

Been there, done that. Christmas '02, I told my wife I'd like G2, knowing that our computer probably wouldn't run it. It didn't. Two gifts in one!! Then G3 came out, and I wasn't happy with the computer I built for G2, so I built another one. When G4 came out, it was a foregone conclusion to my wife that I'd be building another computer, which I did. With G5 though, if I do anything, it'll only be to upgrade the video cards.

Only if you haven't been keeping up.

G5 runs on the same hardware that G4 does so there is no computer upgrade involved.

I have G3, but I wanted the new controller. I like multiflying on a 46" LCD, good stuff. For $165 and a hat(sorry op, not RF related, just a freebie throw in), I couldn't pass it up.

Quick question: Will G4.5 swap pages things work the same in G5? Or will we see the different behaviors when it went from G3.5 to G4?

I'm sure that would depend on the specific aircraft in question, but it looks to me like the physics in G5 are the same as (or at least very close) to the physics in G4.

Okay, that's what I was looking for. i haven't downloaded any G4/G4.5 aircraft at all, so I am probably going to just get them all and try them out. Would the G4 be the same deal, or would those be even more outta whack?

I would say that that would be the same as how G4 aircraft performed in G4.5.
