elevator flutter

Anyone experiencing elevator flutter on G4.5. I don't think it is a programable failure.
The elevators seem to be fluttering a fair bit. Possibly the controller?

This is new!

I would love to be able to have flutter as a programmable failure... or a "never exceed speed" parameter for airfoils.

But as to your question.

Are you overspeeding the plane?

When you drop the weight of a Componant, to low, it will flutter!

flutter

Thanks for the replies.
This is the standard Yak 3d no mods. it is most noticable at slow speeds.
It is intermitent but sems to be getting worse. I'll try other planes to see if its there as well.

Something is Amiss.............the stock Yak should not flutter at all with out any Mod's at any speed
(or any other stock aircraft that I can recall)

Try the Restore Defaults button under Additional Options on the RF Launcher

ya your right ......what I noticed with both of those examples is that they both don't have a separate elevator

instead the entire Horz. Stab pivots . and I fixed that problem with a variant

by editing in a conventional stab./ Elev. .........no more flutter from either of them after that (even above Mach )....and they even still "looked" right in the Sim

Even better would be if RealFlight fixed their standard planes, so we wouldn't have to add another AV to our plane lineup, to fix what shouldn't need to be fixed.

G5, Expansion packs, and Add Ons planes should all work properly.

I know, this is crazy talk. lol

ya you're right
but keep in mind how old those add-ons were and what version was current then

just as we have learned new things so has KE...... even the CS for some of those older add-ons were ............ I'll leave it at that

I may be misunderstanding what you guys are saying, but it sounds to me like you're "fixing" something that is already correct. The F-15 and F-16 Add-Ons models, like their full scale counterparts, use what are known as full flying stabs. The entire horizontal stabilizer surface pivots to act as an elevator, instead of a traditional fixed stabilizer + elevator control surface configuration. You're absolutely correct that those models are horribly outdated, but that aspect of their design was not a mistake.

The last time flutter was discussed, on the F-16 I believe, I asked my friend about it. He has flown the real F-15 and F-16. If I recall, he said flutter can be an issue the faster you go.

You're absolutely correct Ryan
they are like that on the real thing
but deleting the flying stabs and replacing them with a conventional Stab/Elv.
was the only way "I" found to eliminate the flutter that both of those models inherently had at high speeds

because editing the physical model does not change the visual model
is why I said "It still looked right in the Sim."
