Question: Ive got a few areas like this. Am I asking for trouble if I loop cut at the selected edges and delete the edges used to create the geometry? I would then combine the two separate objects. I ask this for poly conservation purposes.

You could loopcut them off as you show (Make the edges hard first). Make the bottom face of the sphere object a hole, and delete the edges marked in yellow. Don't forget the cleanup to delete isolated verts.

You read my mind. Just wasn't sure it would work like I pictured it working.

I was going back and forth, cooking supper. Grilled then baked pork chops, mashed potatoes, cream style corn, ranch style beans, yum, yum.

Quick question for you guys. As you can see, my bottom window on this side does not render the material the same as the rest of the windows. I created it the same way as the rest (so I thought), and its assigned the same material. Any ideas before I go exploring? BTW, me and exploring usually get into trouble together

Wow, it looks great!

I don't know if things like screw heads and clevises are important, but comparing your render to the real model those items are missing.

Screw heads around the base of the canopy, the cowling screw heads, and the clevises for the guy wires at the tail.

And the dark "air vent?" thing at the front of the canopy.
