I would like to share my thoughts with you

Hi !

I made models for Realflight since 2007 now and sometimes im very unmotivated to continue with this hobby.

It take one to three weeks for me, sometimes longer, to build a model. You all know that its a lot of work and you gave so much heart and blood into it.
And after all this work you are so excited what the community think about it. And thats the point where i sometimes desperate. Im registered in one of the biggest heli forums in germany, spend a lot of time posting my work in it. And there are people who are talking **** about me. Some said i would praise the Realflight to much, i would only try to sell my models, bla bla bla. I dont sell my models, they are free. I know more about simulators than most of the people there. I test Reflex, Heli-X and Phoenix (thats no advertising only examples) and i still think Realflight got the best Physics.

That makes me sometimes depressed and sad. You gave so much and earn such statements. I mean not our com here on the swaps...
In the 4 years of modelling there was only one person who donate me 10 Euros for my work. The others are only take advantage of getting these models for free. I can't blame them for doing this...but they might appreciate my work a little more.

I thank Knifeedge again to get the Realflight 6 Update for free. That brings a little smile on my face in this, sometimes, unfair world.

So...what are your story ? Do you have made similar experiences ?

If you think im only whining don't answer please....i don't need any negative comments. Thank you.

Some of us appreciate the Free gifts you provide.

Don't get depressed man, people are not so generous in these days, but best we can do is say thanks.
Don't make this your burden to carry, if you build something and wish to share, Great! But don't feel obligated to do so.

So, Thank You!

Hi !

I don't mean this forum. I mean the people who can't be grateful, especially in this german forum. You gave all and earn ****.

WTF ?

And now you are cussing? If your problem is with the other forum, take your crying there.

You got a free copy of Real Flight 6 from a company who wanted to show you how much they appreciate you. That's not enough to give you a warm and fuzzy? Get some thicker skin.

Yup, you should see some of the cr-ap I've caught at other places...

At RCU I had several people call me a "shill" for Knifeedge, and in another forum there, for another company, because I like both company's products.

This usually originates by those who fail to respond with any form of scientific or analytic mechanism when evaluating things.

They get frustrated at being unable to argue rationally and it things turn into bad- mouthing.

Even this forum has seen it's share of the same... ( Nabisco Cookies anyone ), here.

I lament that you are treated this way on the German Forums. I've seen that in those forums are many proponents of Aerofly because of it's German origination. I like that product too, just not as much as I like Realflight's physics... though I buy the latest and the greatest of both all the time.

Maybe part of the naysaying has more to do with nationalism and pride than with actual observations, and hence gets emotionally heated??

Maxx,

You know I always appreciate your hard work. Your quality of the models is astounding and so is your work on the physics.

Perhaps the members of the other forums you are involved in are jealous because they don't have Realflight and they wish they could fly your models in their sim of choice. I don't really know if that is true, but it could be.

I can honestly tell you that it doesn't matter what those people think that feel they need to say negative things about you. Your models will always be appreciated here. I have several friends that own Realflight that aren't involved in the forums and when I sent them the link to your website, they were amazed and couldn't stop thanking me for the link.

I've also given models I worked very hard on to people and they turn around and tell me I should create gliders. They don't thank me for the model I gave them or compliment me on the jet I gave them. I have no idea what they think. It is nice to be appreciated from time to time.

In the end, keep modeling for yourself because you like to do it. I don't think your models would be so nice if you had other reasons other than you like doing it. It seems you concentrate on the quality of your models because you like how they look in the end. That makes it all worth the time and effort.

Matt

I wonder if I am now labeled a terrorist because I'm not grateful of the death threats I've received from "peaceful Obama supporters", for supporting 2nd amendment rights. All because I linked some FBI statistics?

Hi !

I shared my thoughts in my german heli forum too. And the funny thing is that one admin send me a PN.

He said they dont like the forum bashing i would do. I never do that. The most people there are totally idiots and dont know nothing about our hobby.

I think i will leave there with my middlefinger up....then i spoke their language maybe

The middle finger.... Yeah, that's one way to make friends.

I think that's a sign you're spending too much time in the virtual world.
Get some fresh air, meet a girl or two.

hello

If you were doing modeling as a job, (which you could), I'd say critisism come with the territory. The Boss would expect no less than perfection, but just do it for the love of it.
I remember when I did the Deuces Wild , and a magic 5er hit the rating system. There was so many hands in getting it right, that I felt like it was a slap in their faces as well, and I almost blew a gasket. Everyone said, "Chill out dude, we like the plane, don't worry about him." So I did and thats when I realized, that people will do things to hurt you, but how you react to them, is how your seen by others. Do Modeling For You First, And Others Later. you will be happier.

Hi !

I feel better now. Thanks to all. I have normally a thick thin, but sometimes i think: This world is full off idiots

I think its a kind of envy (?). Some people cannot defend themselves in other ways. I feel sorry for them

I will continue and left them behind on my way. Wish you all a good weekend !
