I do it that way sometimes. I like to make most of the airfoil independently, then bridge it to the parent object if I use that technique. I find I don't get a perfect shape when I draw it on the parent first.

One more question. Does wings have something to constrain the verts to move only along existing edges? In Max the tool is called Edge Constraints. This usually would allow for the drawn shape to modified without disturbing the fuselage shape. This can be done before or after the extrusion.

Wing Surfaces cut. Main modeling done, except for bottom cowl scoop and landing gear. I may not have room for the details I'd like to include. I'm already at 3,440 polies.

Yak 11. That's what I was thinking. It looks like a cross between the The Yak 11 and Yak 55.

Last I checked, the Yak 31 had retractable landing gear.
And an inline engine.
