Something interesting is going on at Bayou. It might just be my computer, it might not.

I noticed while in Chase mode, that if I fly through a certain area, between trees, it looks clear. But my aircraft hits something that is invisible, and suddenly I can see leaves flutter down while my plane crashes. It happens with the airboat as well. I will be driving through what appears to be an open area, I will hear a noise like the prop striking something and then the motor shuts off and the airboat starts to bounce around on the water.

I turned up everything on my system to high, increased foliage density to 100% and I can not see any leaves hanging down in this area but apparently they are there and when I fly into them I see the leaves suddenly flutter down from being hit.

Is this a bug or just my 'puter??

We had to make some concessions for performance reasons, and you are describing one of the big ones. The problem does not exist for all the tree objects, but with the tree clusters collision detection is imprecise.

On my computer, some of the trees, (or lightning struck stumps [that's what they
look like]) will disappear, then reappear in other places.
It all ways happens when I fly an airplane.

Where did the big rock (Jabba) go?

I have a new PC. I even installed a discrete graphics card in it. I have my graphics settings all turned on and set to high or highest. And the rock is gone. More than just one also.

Can someone please explain this to me?

Do different graphic cards produce different results? I mean, some will show things that others don't? That just seems crazy to me.

It's not just you. Bayou underwent a few more tweaks before its final release, and one of them was the removal of those new rock objects.

The rocks are still available, however. You can edit any airport you like to add some of them yourself. Look for Desert Boulder and Mossy Boulder under Stones.

Oh, so it was in the latest public update?

Whew! Glad to know it was not me going crazy and not a video card 'feature'.

Thanks Ryan.
