Did a little more research on those Slats on the LE, they are not designed for slow speed flight like I mentioned, they are actually designed for high AoA maneauvers, they only extend 6 inches on the full scale aircraft, and are only on the top half of the wing, to allow air to pass underneath, acting as a duct to direct air into the nacelles when the wing is blocking the airflow.

Looking at the examples, 50% should be OK, at 90% details are lost.

Well this model isn't starting as a high poly model so 50% is unrealistic as well.
