Let's see some RFX Heli Videos!!

I don't have X but would love to see some video posts of Heli flying!
Is anybody using RFX for their daily Heli practice routine??
Let's see some of that please!

Thanks!

Thumbs down

Your not seeing any videos as RFX is not worthy of using for a Heli Simulator. I spent over 5G updating my computer and monitor and it still does not meet the quality of RF7.5.

Save your money and wait a few years and then perhaps there will be a fix to this poor excuse for a helicopter flight simulator.

Oh yeah, updates are coming.

Yes, don't fret, buy CGM Next online and use your RFX controller and IMHO the Best Heli sim ever! Try it for free and see

On your 5G hardware it will be amazing as I spent the same as you!

Oh and if you have VR HMD like Vive it is even better!

I still love RFX for fixed wing and FPV so it is the old horses for courses as Next is next to useless for Fixed wing.

I use them both!

Next is the best heli sim ever? I tried the free demo and was not impressed with the flight physics and actually laughed at the model "editor". Maybe the paid version is better but certainly didn't see anything exciting in the demo.

AccuRC isn't much better... even when I can get it to run.

Very eager to try Realflight with a VR rig! Wow, that's got to be the closest to real flying at the field!

Have you tried the latest version?

Unfortunately the test version is really only to see if it runs on your hardware. It takes a little while to get used to it and set it up but for a heli sim it is great and it best of all it works with a VR headset, As far as I know there is no other sim that works with VR and the best part you can use your Realflight hardware.

Here's a litmus test if you don't mind...

In your opinion, Phoenix heli flight physics are... realistic or un-realistic?

I have used this sim only as a temporary borrow from a friend and I thought it was really quite good for helis and the physics felt good and quite real to me but I already have Reflex and Realflight and didn't want to fork out for another interface.

I found the Fixed wing to be better in realflight.

I have Phoenix as well and while it's not a bad sim many of the helis tend to fly all the same. You can't tell much difference between a flybar and a flybarless like you can in Realflight. It just doesn't have all the physics parameters. It will be nice when 6.0 comes out and supports the generic wireless dongles. I wish Realflight did that. All you will need is a legit dongle plugged in at the same time. I have an OrangeRX dsm2/dsmx one all ready to go for only $15.

I have been spending a bit of time flying helicopters in RF-X the last couple of days. Wow is it ever sensitive. But I got used to it and was back to the normal routines.

I flew FPV through an obstacle course and was having a lot of fun with it. I really like the scenery looking more lifelike. The physics were ok, but I need to fly it a lot more to have an opinion.

I've been flying heli's since very early '80s. The RF-X models are more sensitive than my first GMP cricket.

That tells me we're still using beta physics at best.

RF-X seems to treat helis as an "annoying" inclusion. I'd still like to see the old engine with an increased triangle count. AKA RF8.

The old engine was amazing at helis. I have a few friends that learned to hover nose-in with RF and were able to translate that to real helis easily.
