3D Glasses/Goggles

I've been using Eye3D glasses (http://www.demensional.com/products.htm) for several months on CockpitMaster/BackyardEdition, FMS, and other flight sims for a few months. Just purchased RealFlight G2 and can't get my 3D glasses to work on it. Here's what's happening.

I usually activate the glasses by keyboard (Alt-T), but since RFG2 traps all keyboard input, that doesn't work for activating the 3D Stereo software. Have even tried keys RFG2 doesn't use. So I set up Nvidia 3D Stereo drivers to activate when it detects 3D screen (automatically activate). When I do this I get the blue screen of death (system crash) as soon as RFG2 opens.

I'm using NVIDIA GEFORCE4 TI 4200 video card (64m), with very latest drivers and stereo drivers from NVIDIA and Direct X 8.1, on P4 1.6ghz PC with 256mb ram on Windows XP Home Edition (with latest updates). 3D stereo works on other RC and non-RC flight sims that use DirectX. Am using latest version of RFG2.

From reading postings here sounds like other people have gotten 3D glasses to work on RFG2, so I must be doing somthing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

my error

Never mind. Conincidental with installing RFG2 I had put on the new NVIDIA Detonator 4.0 video drivers, which don't include 3D Stereo support yet. So none of my 3D apps are in stereo now. It will probably work when the stereo drivers for 4.0 are released by NVIDIA.

3d glasses

I have the 3-d e-d glasses and I can't get them to work either. I emailed edeminsional tech support and they said to go a forum for flight sims and see if other useres, such as yourself have the same problem. It seems that graphics used in R/F are not supported by the glasses. Her is their comment: "If a game is not in the configurations it should still work. If it doesn't work that means the game may not be compatible. I'm not sure what type of graphics are used in the RC sim, but it may just not be in the format. You can ask around some of the Flightsim forums and see what they know. Maybe someone else has that program that could offer you some tips." Let;s keep looking around and see if we can find a fix. I'm going to email Knife edge tech support as well.

unable to test

NVIDIA has still not released stereo drivers for Detonator 40.xx so I have not been able to test. I will post the results here as soon as I am able to test.

But there is still a "design error" in RFG2 in that it traps ALL keystrokes and keeps them from being passed to the OS, so "hot keys" for things like stereo goggles will never work. RFG2 should instead pass the keystroke on to the OS if it does not belong to RFG2.
