Controller not connected
I've installed Realflight, on a Dell 4100, with SB live card, running windows ME. I was getting the "controller not connected" message in the control panel game options dialog. I read about the I/O issues and decided I'd rather use USB anyway since I already have a working joystick on the game port for some programs. I picked up the rockfire usb adapter. It does add a 4 axis, 4 button contoller, which seems to respond the realflight controller. When I start real flight, the real flight controller gets added to the list of controller options, but it's status is still "not connected". However the 4 axis/4button controller option does seem to work under real flight.
My question - Is the generic four axis/four button controller the correct choice for the usb setup? Is there a performance penalty for taking this approach versus getting the controller to run through the "real" game port?
