Having registered my G2 several years ago, and now reinstalling after a crash that led me to have XP professional installed puts me in the same spot I was in years ago.
>Registration number entered is not recognized--yes It's the right one! >The game will not run properly, has crashed several times following 3 reinstalls, has given several different error messages, white screen with sound only...etc. >Unable to find direct update on website. >Message I have a proxy problem when no other site has issues with connecting --I go through a proxy server, know what one is-acessing other game sites is not a problem, but no help from GP on what to enter to acess their server is unfortunate. It's the one site on the internet I have encountered that will not let my computer access its customer info. >No return phone call, on long distance hold for 10-15 minutes >Control panel updating does not work What is with all the problems posted I see??!! Nothing has changed in that area from the same problems I experienced several years ago when I first tried to install G2. Install updates is not the only update that should be posted on the web. Does anyone have the latest update for G2? I tried 2.00.327 but that would not work at all. So far, the original disk version 2.00.219 plays sound only. Can't get through calibration screen to get Futaba controller with parallel link to work. Last edited by 1johnu; 08-15-2004 at 12:04 AM. |

With Windows XP (other versions may apply), the older original version of 2.00.219 apparently will have operating problems. This problem can be fixed by contacting RealFlight customer support to get help with downloading the latest version of 2.00.637.
It seems that more operating issues and error messages are from an incompatability between the program version and a computers' operating system than it is an issue with a sound or video card, or a driver issue. I recommend making the long distance call (no toll free available), which I had to do, as it is helpfull in explaining the problem. They will then assist you with getting the latest version which now works fine on my computer with no issues or error messages After calling Realflight, I can only emphasize that most of the problems out there with error messages, blue screens, and being unable to update from the G2 control panel are software related and not hardware or equipment related that require more in-depth troubleshooting methods. Bottom line-if a computer meets the requirements outlined, and the latest version of G2 is in hand--it will work Good luck to everyone just trying to practice on a truly great flight sim. |
