Multiplayer Server
Is there any multiplayer server out there where I can connect to to play RealFlight G3 with other players around the world ?

On the Multiplayer menu, select Join. This will bring up a dialog box. Make sure that Listing Server is selected in the dropdown box near the bottom right of the dialog and click the Search button.
This will query the listing server for public multiplayer sessions. If there are any, they will appear in the list for you to choose from. Travis |

When I try to join a multiplayer session, I get the error message "Failed to send player information packet". Do you know why this is happening ?

kktoh,
I'm pretty sure that when you receive that error message. The server your attempting to join is showing but its actually not really up anymore. The host either quit or was auto dissconnected. You just have to keep trying until you find a server that is actually up. Of course if there are servers showing but their actually not up you won't be able to join. I also think that usually after about 10 minutes or so that servers that are showing but aren't actually up, then disappear. I think.... ![]() Adlai |

Slider,
Can you post your multiplayer airport here. I'm still unable to save a copy of it using the method you suggested. Thanks. |

kktoh,
If you'd be willing to give me a step by step explanation on how to post it here, I'll post it. Of course that means I don't know how to do that. Also for some reason, before updating to the new beta 377 version I could make a copy of an airport from a multiplayer session. But now I'm not able to do it with this new 377 version. ![]() Adlai

kktoh,
I don't have to much free time here but I have to find the time one of these days to figure out how to post or paste a copy of an airport here. But in the mean time. All you have to do is choose Joe's Garage Airport from the Nevada Sierra Airports. Use the pylon EVENT>for the 2 pylon setup use 250 feet between pylons. For the 3 pylon EVENT use 250 feet between pylons 1 and 2 and 75 feet between pylons 2 and 3. All I did was edit Joe's Garage airport by taking out the building etc. etc. and figured out how to place the pylons by alternating between a pylon event and the airport editor. I DID NOT MOVE THE EVENT SPAWN POSITION. After I figured out where to place the pylons I just moved the runway and the scale for the pylons ended up at 3. If you set the pylon scale to 3 while editing I found it harder to figure out the exact position for the pylons, best to keep them small until you find the exact position. One of these days I'll figure out how to post a copy of an airport here. Sorry. This is for Travis......OH! Adlai

Knife Edge.
Will you PLEASE consider getting rid of that - "x multiplayer sessions found. Keep searching?" pop-up dialog? First of all, it seems to serve NO purpose that I can see. In fact, if you select "Yes", it does NOT continue the search, it simply starts the search all over again and displays the same list (unless a multiplayer session happened to start that split second). I'm not sure why someone would select yes to another search right at the end of a search that just completed, but it seems to me if they are inclined to keep searching the same listing server over and over again, it would be a simple matter to just hit the search button again. This pop up window is PARTICULARLY annoying when in FULL SCREEN mode, as the screen keeps switching back and forth from window mode to full screen. Typically, I hit the search button to see what running, then all I want to do is select a session and join. Are people using this feature in some different way than I am? Am I missing the point of this feature all together? Ideally, let people hit the "Search" button. Let the list populate with whatever it finds. If you must, throw a line in there that says "x sessions found, search over" - but requires NO user input. Thanks, Jim H. |

kktoh,
Just letting you know I was succesful at attaching a copy of the airport here. But when I unzipped it to my second copy of G3, it shows. But for some reason it seems as if the copy is from another airport "possibly" and the pylons, runway etc. aren't showing.......brrb....... Will try again some time down the line. Adlai

Why can't you just have the server listbox show a line that says "Search complete - The following servers were found -", and then list the servers (if any)? If none were found, just put "No servers found" in the list. Why do you need something that requires user input?
