Windows XP & RealRace

Have a few peoblems running with Windows XP

During installation:

Get messages-
1)"Severe
Directx does not support the windows version on the system".

2) "Question
There was an error onstalling Directx, do you wish to continue the installation". (I say yes to this)

During Startup I get the following messages:

1) "Error
One or more of the parameters passed to the function are incorrect.

File: L\kelib\DirectDraw\DXDirect input.cpp
line: 684"

(I then have to click OK to proceed)

2)"Error
Error intialising joystick interface"

the game will run to the start up screen but not any further and the controller is not recognised, in the game or in the windows set up.

I have tried registering for upgrades, but it will only allow you to register if you have an american address/zip code, for some bizare reason. I am based in the UK anyone please help!!

Packard bell Ixtreme 9607
Intel pentium 4 2.0GHZ
256 mb SD Ram
40 GB Hard Drive
Modem 56kps V.92
DVD&CDRW
Stereo Sound
